My Trainer Goes Home. :(

Hey!
I decided to wait til today to write you because it is dads birthday. Just kidding! But happy birthday! Whitney too this weekend!
I know its tuesday, but i couldnt write yesterday. We were traveling home from Teguc all day and when we got back to Monjaras we planed on using internet but then the power was out down here so we couldnt. But our ZLs said we could today so here I am. Here is my week for you.

Last Tuesday was my last day with Elder Guillen. He was a good comp. We got along well. We did very well in our time together as well. Now he is home with his family and that is cool. Im happy for him. On tuesday night we all waited the phone call of changes. Alot of our zone was going to change so we were excited to hear. When the call came they said Jensen is going to the city as ZL (impresive because he only has 6 months) We were getting a new ZL who is a byu soccer player, other cool things, and lastly they said my name.... Elder Comstock gets a mini missionary. Um.... I didnt know what to think. A mini missionary isnt even set apart. They are only here for a few weeks. There is usually always a reason they arent real missionaries. So I prayed for the best.

The next day my comp came. His name is Elder Acsencio. He is from Tegucigalpa. He was on a mission in Guatemala for 2 months and had to go home for some stuff. And now he is here with my trying to get back to Guatemala. It has been very difficult. his has easily been the hardest, most stressful week of my mission.
Then on Saturday night my zls called me and told me I was invited to dinner at the presidents house on sunday night because we had so many baptisms last month. It was an honor so we went. On the bus ride up though I started to feel sick and by the time we got there I was super sick. I ended up laying downstaris all night while they were all eating upstairs. It was a rough night. It was nice though because everyone wanted to help take care of me. Hermana Hernandez helped alot. So it was a good place to be sick.
And that is why we were on a bus yesterday all day and why I couldnt Email. Stuff like that just happens in this country so Im pretty used to it. I know this letter isnt as good as last week. But it was the toughest week of my mission so far. This week should be better.

Seminary Party

Jordan has told us that cake is a real delicacy in Honduras.  So he and  Elder Guillen made a cake and had a party for their Seminary class.

Happy Mother's Day to the Mothers in Monjaras!

Jordan told us when he called on Mother's Day that he and some of the other missionaires made cake for the mothers in their area for Mother 's Day.

Prayer Works Miracles

Hey family. I love you all! Congrats on making it through another school year. It was a great last couple of weeks for me. Crazy but amazing. So here is a story of it.

I will start with a little background info. In latin america it is not very common to find married couples . Most families just have 2 parents that never actually got married and have just been together for a very long time and have kids and anything. thye just dont get married because it is expensive, not because they dont love each other or anything. But they have to get married to get baptized because of the law of chastity. Our mission has goals to baptize famlies because the gospel blesses famlies. So with this problem, we have to help people get married to get baptized.
About 2 months ago we met Jose Luis and Diana. They had been a couple for 7 years and have 2 kids. Jose and his little 1 year old baby are always smiling and happy. It is priceless.I love their family so when they decided that they wanted to get married I was happy to help them. They were going to need help because Diana had to go 6 hours in a bus to get her papers for the marrige because thats where she was born. That was a 2 day trip because she stayed at her moms house. We were starting to get crunched on time when she left because that was 2 weeks ago and the legal people for the wedding need to know in advance. So we hoped her trip would go well for times sake. We had to get them married and baptized becauswe Elder Guillen is done this week. So the 26th was the day we had to baptize them. She ended up having some problems though
She went all the way out to where she was born to take out all of the papers. while she was in the  office the papers were in the table and all ready to go and here little baby knocked some glass ornament off the desk. It broke and the people in the office said that she couldnt have her papers until she paid for it. She didnt have the money to pay for it so she went home empty handed. When she told me that story it seemed taht we had no chance to get it all done before the 26th. I was just praying all day, hoping that we could find a way to get those papers. We called the missionaries in that area and asked them to try to talk to the office and get the papers. It was a long shot because with those papers it people have to go get them for them selves, but we tried. They paid for the ornament thing and got the papers. Sent them to us and we had them the next day. Prayer answered!
So now that we had the papers tehy had to go sign up to get married. That is about and hour and a half bus ride from where they live and we live in the middle of that so they were supposed to meet us one mornign to go sign up. That morning they didnt show. That was the last possible day they could sign up and they didnt show. We went to the legal office and begged for one more day. They said if they showed up tommorrow they could do it. So they next day we went out to their house to bring them with us to go sign up. Just to talk to them and learn why they didnt come. That whole night and day I was praying, saying ´´ Heavenly Father, please help these people get married. I am doing all I can out here. Help me with the rest. I know thats how the Atonement works. Please help us.´´
When we got there the next day we found out that they didnt show because they got in a fight. They had resolved the ploblem by the time we showed up though, so they came with us. Another Prayer answered!
The wedding was on they 24th of may. Same day as graduation at CV haha. But we were having a wedding. (for 2 families actually, the other family had less problems though so they don t have as cool of a story). The wedding was beautiful. She didnt have a white dress and he didnt have a tux but it was beatiful. The whole branch of Guapinol showed up in a bus and was there for it. It was so cool. The next thing was gitting them baptized.
The next day on Friday we did the interviews and they were both ready to go. Passed and it was all going to go perfect... not with the way this story is though. Jose said that he had to work til 3 and the baptism was at 1 so he couldnt get baptized. We couldnt changet the time because it was another big zone baptism. We told him to come on a bus after 3 and we would do his after. We have to do the baptisms in Monjaras because it is the only church with a font.
We had the baptisms t 1 and they were awesome, but he didnt show up after 3 like we planned. So at 4 Elder Guillen and I went on a mission to find him. We went on the last bus to Guapinol ( without knowing if we would have a way home) just to invite him one more time to come get baptized. When we got to guap we found him and talked to him and he said he was afraid to get baptized again because he was baptized in another church when he was younger. We had already taught him the need of Baptism again but he didnt understand all the way. So we taught him for 10 min and he was excited to go. We didnt have a ride back to Monjaras so we called the branch president. He found us a truck and we all piled into the back for the baptism. On the way there it started to rain so we got soaked!! We showed up to the baptism all wet and he changed into dry baptismal clothes. Just to get them wet again in the baptism. It was my comps last baptism and it was special for him. It was special for me too.
This is for sure a story of prayers being answered. The whole time things kept going off the plan, but we always had faith they would work out and were always praying for it to work out. Our prayers were always answered.
I love you all. Have an amazing week!

Visitor from the 70

Wow this week has been crazy. Ive spent the majority of my time in busses going all over southern Honduras to get these marriges done. And we arent even done yet. It is a little stressful with the baptisms coming up this Saturday. I have to be patient though because I am in a bus waiting for so much time, so it doesnt do any good to dwell on whats going on. We just are being positive right now. I think that both of the couples are going to get married and baptized but the rush is to get it done before Saturday because it is my comps last baptism. I want to get it for him. He has made me a little crazy at times but I love the guy. He really is a good missionary and I am grateful to have him.
We had a zone conference this Wednesday and Elder Falobela from the 70 was there for us. It was a really great conference. I learned alot from Elder Falobela. He stressed the importance of us white guys helping our comps from central America learn English. I had never thought much about that before, but it does say in Preach my Gospel that all missionaries should study English. He talked about how it is the best thing we can do to bless the lives of our companions because it gives them such a better chance for work and a better life when they get home. It is very true. I try to speak english with my comp sometimes but he usually says I dont understand man as the reply haha. He is already goin home so its too late to teach him too much but In the future I want to study English with my latin comps to help them with that.
Right now I am just trying to get these baptisms ready, and prepare for when I have to lead my area in 10 days. I want to have some investigators and families already when I get my new comp next Wednesday. I want to keep baptizing because it feels so good to have the baptisms. I dont want to have to start all over again with my area when my comp leaves. So right now is working towards next change too. It should be a crazy week and I should have some great stories next Monday if everything goes good this week. Wish me Luck.
