Farewell CC December 18,2011

The much anticipated day had finally arrived.  Jordan worked hard on preparing a great talk and it was the day we had been waiting for!  He wore his "purple ribbon all-stars" tie.  He bought purple ties for himself and Kaden, Zack and Daniel for them all to wear at their farewells.  He looked so grown-up and handsome.  I could not have been a prouder mother.  We had many family members there to support him.  Uncle Spencer flew in from Houston.  He left after work on Friday and flew to Vegas.  He he was in 5 different states in a 24 hour period.  He had a layover somewhere, and then landed in Vegas.  Rented a car and drove through AZ to get to Cedar.  He got into Cedar in the middle of night and then we saw him Saturday afternoon.  Kate and Matt and family met us a sacrament meeting that morning. And Jill and Jason flew in from CA.  Of course, Julie and David and Grandma and Grandpa Jordan were there.  The chapel, overflow and gym were packed full.  Mark quoted a line from "It's A Wonderful Life."  "A man who has friend is not a failure."  Jordan has so many  people that love and support him.  I had many ward members comment that they had never seen so many people at a farewell before.  He gave an amazing talk and then Patriarch Grimshaw spoke.  He talked about how tender it was to watch Jordan's mother and sisters as he spoke and see how much they all love each other.  We fed a little over 100 people at the house after the meeting.  Julie and mom were so sweet to help with that.  And I asked several of Jordan's girlfriends and members of the soccer team to bring desserts.  We had pulled pork sandwhiches, a vegetable tray, chips and LOTS of dessert!

Dave composed an arrangement of some missionary songs for Jordan.
After the "open house" we went to his classroom so he could play it for us.
